Get off the grid and explore your Expedition!

This 4-month fast-paced adventure discipleship program focuses on spiritual, team, character and skill development while giving students an opportunity to experience and participate in various types of ministry and service.

Expedition Details:

  • Participate in practical seminars in a non-classroom environment
  • Volunteer with various local service outreaches in Kitchener-Waterloo such as the food bank and food programs, after school programs, Out of the Cold and refugee assistance programs
  • Earn up to 6 academic course credits and 2 units of Field Education (transferable into any degree or diploma program at Emmanuel Bible College)
  • Travel at home and abroad:
    • One weekend at Medeba Adventure camp
    • Time spent at the Centre for Student Leadership
    • Two weeks in Kingston, Ottawa, and Montreal
    • One weekend leading a First Nations Jr. Youth retreat
    • One week with the Centre for Student Mission in either New York City, Chicago, or Washington, DC
    • Four weeks in Thailand

 

Expedition-Plus:

Enhance your Expedition adventure with a semester of in-class academic learning, completed in the same academic year, and earn additional credits transferable into any degree or diploma program at Emmanuel Bible College. 

Tuition covers all expenses including travel and airfare. Costs are based on current airfares, van rental fees, bus fares, residence and meal plan rates and gas prices.

The Expedition and Expedition-Plus programs are eligible for OSAP funding.

Career Path

Students completing this program will have experience in a variety of ministries.  This will help them determine the next step to which God is calling them.  This may include further study at Emmanuel or other colleges and universities.  The credits earned can be used toward a degree or diploma at EBC.

Admission to and continuance in this program is at the discretion of the program co-ordinator and the college admissions committee. Supporting documents, including a completed program questionnaire and additional references, may be required.

For the Expedition Certificate, students take only the travel semester of the program.  Expedition-Plus requires one semester of travel and one semester of in-class studies, completed in the same academic year.
